mace LIBRARY
Muslim Association College of Engineering Library was established in the year 2002. Since its beginning itself, it could provide fully computerized services to its users. Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is a part of MACE Intranet, which enable the academic community of every department to access information from their location itself. Apart from this, the members can now access library resources globally through this site. The library has the rare distinction of being one among the first fully computerized and networked self financing engineering college libraries of the state. Muslim Association College of Engineering, (MACE) Venjaramoodu, Thiruvananthapuram is managed by the Muslim Association founded in 1956 on the initiative of a-band of enlightened citizens of the capital city of the State of Kerala.
LIBRARY ORGANISATION
MACE Library & Information Division provides open access to its collection. Documents are classified according to Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC, 21st edition). For easy location and access of documents by the users, related subjects are grouped according to their related engineering branch and collection numbers are given for each group. Entire documents in the library are bar-coded which minimizes the check-in check-out time in the circulation desk. ‘Library Dimension’ software is used for the computerization of the library.
